About Us

Established in 2010, with a track record of production and distribution on engaging, high quality, film and television content, Roc Pictures always seek out international exchange and cooperation, bringing together renowned talent and top-notch innovators such as twice Palme d'Or winner Bille August, Academy winning producer Michael Costigan and Academy winning director Hugh Welchman etc.

Through years of global focused exploring, we have formed up a world wide business scale on festivals, sales and co-productions. Our work includes Opening Film of SIFF "In Harm's Way", Closing Film of Berlinale Culinary Cinema Section "Eat Drink Man Woman II", Best Picture of  MIFF "The Locked Door", co-produced 3D disaster film "Bait" with Australia, co-produced stop animation +live action "The Flying Machine" with Poland and UK, co-produced TV series with Korea MBC "Empress Ki" and many other projects.

Who We Are

CEO          SUN PENG

Sun Peng previously worked as director and host of the international department of Zhejiang satellite TV. Graduated from Communication University of China with a master's degree, and HKU with a master's degree in MBA, she is the chief member of Zhejiang Film Association and China Film Association.
As founder and CEO of Roc Pictures and a senior producer, she has participated and produced every production Roc Pictures has made, including 17 co-productions. She oversees the company business strategy, continues exploring our partnerships world widely.

Director        BILLE AUGUST

Bille August is a Danish Academy Award-winning film and television director. His film Pelle the Conqueror won the Palme d'Or, Academy Award and Golden Globe.He is one of only eight directors to win the Palme d'Or twice, winning the prestigious award again for The Best Intentions, based on the autobiographical script by Ingmar Bergman.

Bille signed as Roc Pictures's director and art supervisor in 2011, developed and directed his first Chinese feature The Chinese Widow which is released 2017 in Chinese theaters and 2018 in North America (aka In Harm's Way).

VP          CATHARINE LIN

Catharine Lin studied filmmaking in LA and holds a Masters in linguistics. She is an award winning director and producer, has been with Roc Pictures since 2012, participated and produced projects such as feature film "Secret Garden", drama series "Empress Ki" a co-production with Korean MBC television, feature film "The Chinese Widow" directed by Palme d'Or twice winner Bille August etc.

As VP of Roc Pictures, she is focusing on content development, co-production and international distribution.
